  1. "There Came A Child" It is my desire to take you into childcare, and that you might desire to bless the children yourself. There is a great need for the difficule work of house parenting. This book can help you find the way, with God's help. It is about learning to give god the controls and blessing the children. I have spent many hours in a very simple book to give people an understanding of whatbeing a house parent is about and how important children are to god and should be to us. Many children would not have a home if it were not for people who devoted themselves to careing for them. Children are the most important resorce that is available, there are those who abuse them, neglect them. and take avantage of them. Those children need someone to care for them, no strings attached. It is a tough job and sometime thankless but always worth while. the book can be used as a guide and help in any family situation where one cares for children.

  2. A recommendation from a 79 yr old retired preacher, missionary & county judge.
I would like to strongly recommend the book “There Came A Child” by Merle Roehr.
this book can serve two ways:
    1. It can help anyone become a better parent to their own children.
    2. It’s main purpose is to help couples who might consider becoming house parents in a child care facility to see the deepest need for such service, and to help them prepare for such service. Through his experience and insight after 18 yrs in child care one can geta glimpse of the need of children who are put into child care. Their needs go far beyond the physical ( food, clothing & shelter). These little lives have been scared deeply by neglect, abuse of every kind, betrayal & abandonment, to the point it is almost impossible for them to ever trust or love again. Buy it. Read it & get a better understanding of a great need.
